This original textured acrylic on canvas (stretched and boxed) 100cm x 100cm is part of the Icons collaboration series, a creative meeting of minds and ideas that came about during a June 2023 visit with William Thomas in our gallery in Stow-on-the-Wold. This piece is a vibrant wall filler and pays homage to the recognisable portable record player popularised in the 1970s, especially following Woodstock, for travelling with vinyl singles. William employs a bold style of painting, using layering to create texture with great results. His attention to detail is also incredible. The stickers on the singles and the intricacies of the record player case are tangible to the viewer.
