This original textured acrylic on canvas (stretched and boxed) 100cm x 100cm is part of the Icons collaboration series, a creative meeting of minds and ideas that came about during a June 2023 visit with William Thomas in our gallery in Stow-on-the-Wold. This piece is a vibrant wall filler and pays homage to the Raleigh Chopper, a cultural icon and much-loved by those who grew up riding one. William employs a bold style of painting, using layering to create texture with great results. His attention to detail is also incredible. The lime green paintwork, padded seat and outstretched kickstand are just some of the bicycle’s features that sing in this painting.
